ProHealth & Fitness is a group of highly skilled, personable, and motivated Physical and Occupational therapists and administrative staff who strive to promote quality of life in our patients by providing superb rehabilitation services.

Our Process

At ProHealth & Fitness we believe in having everybody informed every step of the way. There are no silly questions. The entire staff at ProHealth & Fitness will do everything it can to make the rehabilitation process smooth and efficient. Our schedulers will find the most convenient time and location for an evaluation. Our administrative staff will verify your insurance and clearly explain your benefits. ProHealth’s clinicians will evaluate you, identify deficits, discuss your condition with you, formulate short and long term goals, and develop a Plan of Care, which will be sent to your physician(s) for approval. ProHealth’s clinicians work closely with your doctor(s) to ensure a consistent and comprehensive approach to managing your care.

Our Therapists

ProHealth & Fitness’ therapists hold advanced degrees, specializations, and certifications, and participate in ongoing continuing education to keep up with the fast paced healthcare environment. Under the direction of Dr. James Nussbaum, ProHealth & Fitness has become a leader in rehabilitation research and patient centered, outcome based care. ProHealth & Fitness currently has (IRB) approval to research the effects of a number of Physical and Occupational Therapy programs on numerous measures related to the quality of life of our patients. Dr. Nussbaum, a board certified clinical specialist, has presented ProHealth & Fitness’ research at many international and national conferences and currently is a featured presenter for the New York State Department of Health Task Force on Fall Prevention. ProHealth is the first AposTherapy credentialed site in Manhattan providing innovative non-invasive, non-surgical treatment to patients with knee, hip, and back pain. Our organization is a Hospital for Special Surgery Rehab Network member, a Triarq member, and collaborates with physicians from New York City’s finest hospitals and physicians.

At-Home Care

Our Home Program enables patients to be treated in the comfort of their home, whether post a hospitalization, discharge from a home health agency, or just because it is convenient. Many are served at home to mimic an inpatient rehabilitation stay, with high frequency PT and OT services to best help restore function without having to spend time away from home.
