Dominick Platzer

PT, DPT, Practice Director

Dominick is a Queens native who received his Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 2013. While there he played club basketball and participated in research with a specific interest in Little League Elbow/Tommy John Surgery. Before he became Practice Director of Prohealth & Fitness he served as a clinical director in the Tribeca area at the largest provider for PT in the Northeast. During his time there he treated executives from fortune 500 companies, actors, and former professional/collegiate athletes. Following this he moved out to Great Neck to work as Clinical Director at one of Long Island largest PT companies. Following a meeting with James Nussbaum he decided to take his talents to Prohealth & Fitness PT/OT to serve as practice director of all 5 clinics. His passion lies with treating orthopedic injuries that range from complex post op cases to overuse injuries suffered by weekend warriors. To help enhance his ability to treat these cases he became certified in Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFRT). Dom became credentialed in AposTherapy treatment in 2022 and is currently pursuing certification from the Postural Restoration Institute. Dominick’s favorite part about being a physical therapist is helping people feel better and improve their daily functionality. He maintains a full patient caseload while being the head liaison for community outreach and physician relationship building. During his free time Dominick likes to explore new restaurants, is a die-hard Knicks fan, and has an avid interest in anything history related.
